IN MEMORY OF MICHELLE MCKELVEY
July 20, 1981 – April 15, 2014
Michelle McKelvey was an Associate Lawyer who joined the firm in 2012 where she practiced in all areas of family law, including custody and access, child protection, support, property division, marriage contracts, cohabitation agreements, divorce and inter-jurisdictional issues. She advocated for her clients in both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice, as well as representing clients at mediation.
While Michelle frequently and successfully appeared in court, she encouraged negotiation as a means of resolving disputes and brought a great deal of personal insight to her client work. Michelle was academically gifted. She was a graduate of Northern Secondary School and Neuchâtel Junior College, moving to the west coast to attend UBC, where she became a dedicated member of the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority. She attended Queen's law school and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2008. She attended the University of Toronto where is obtained her Master of Laws degree in 2011.
We are all privileged to have had the opportunity to know and work alongside her over the years. We will honour Michelle’s legacy and her memory and the advocate that she was.
She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
